Milepost 68: Judgment of Gentiles

Primary References: Luke 19:27

The judgments of the gentiles follow the Jews' judgment. These judgments occur in two stages: individual and national. This section covers the first of these, individual judgments while the next section covers the later, national judgment. The judgment of individuals is very simple since there are no rewards, just punishments. Anyone refusing to submit to Jesus' authority is condemned to death. Psalms 110:1-6 provides clues of this judgment. These well-known verses show God the Father telling Jesus to sit at His right hand until His enemies have been subdued, which occurred in the great tribulation. Now, Jesus fulfills the rest of the Psalm. He rules with a rod of iron out of Jerusalem, completes the judgment of the Jews (‘Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power'), and judges the gentiles. The judgment of the gentiles has three parts:

1) Kings

2) Heathen

3) Heads of many countries

Jesus strikes the unrighteous kings through (similar to battlefield wound), presumably fatally. He kills the heathen (gentiles) in great numbers. He fills unspecified places, probably the valley of Megiddo, with their dead bodies. He wounds and probably kills the leaders of many countries. Recalling Jesus' admonition in Luke 12:48 (to whom much is given, much is required), it is reasonable to expect Jesus to hold the kings and leaders to a higher standard than ordinary gentiles. Psalms 110 shows Jesus judging all gentiles, great and small, on a day when many gentiles die. All the condemned have rebelled against Jesus' authority and all pay the same price - forfeiture of their lives.
